Every night, hotel rooms sit empty not because there's no demand — but because fragmented availability looks unbookable to travellers searching for multi-night stays. A one-night gap between two reservations is invisible to the guest searching for three nights. StayBlock was built to close those gaps.
StayBlock is a hotel revenue optimisation platform that unlocks hidden booking potential by intelligently restructuring room availability. Instead of letting fragmented one-night gaps go unbooked, the optimizer consolidates reservations across same-type rooms — silently, in the back end — to create continuous, multi-night blocks that are easier to sell.
The platform connects directly to your Property Management System, reads your live reservation data, and runs every night without manual input. Updated availability is pushed back to your PMS, which syncs to your channel manager as it normally would. Guests are never contacted, never relocated, and never aware that anything has happened. Their stay experience is completely unchanged.
StayBlock operates on a pure performance model: hotels pay 9% of the incremental revenue the optimizer generates — and nothing else. No setup fee, no subscription, no minimum commitment. If the optimizer produces no incremental revenue in a given week, the hotel is charged nothing that week. We grow when our hotels grow, and not before.
StayBlock is built for independent hotel owners and small-group operators who know there's more revenue in their calendar than they're capturing — but don't have the time, the IT team, or the budget for enterprise revenue-management software. The platform is live, running on real hotel data, and onboarding founding partners now.

Ruan Spies is a South African entrepreneur with deep roots in hospitality and technology. After years observing how fragmented availability silently bleeds revenue from independent hotels — a problem the major revenue-management tools were never built to solve — he built StayBlock to close the gap.
StayBlock is operated by RS Business Investments (Pty) Ltd, Ruan's holding company, active since 2014 across hospitality, technology, and investment.
